Virtual Sew Along
Do you have a sewing machine? Can you sew a straight line (or a sorta straight line!)? We need you! On Sunday afternoon, Nov. 29th, Shannon, Teresa and Jennifer will be live from
The Oaks Apparel Co.
hosting a virtual sew along. Shannon will walk participants step by step to sewing an infant gown using the 7 Pine Design pattern. Prior to the Sew Along, each participant will receive a packet that includes the pre-cut gown fabric for use in the Sew Along. All the participant will need is white/beige thread, sewing machine, and a cell phone (tablet, laptop, etc) to view the live video from our Sweet Child of Mine Facebook page. Participants will be able to ask questions via text on the Facebook page and one of the hosts can answer so that everyone ends with a finished, beautiful gown to go in our Memory Boxes.
This would be a great opportunity for a parent or grandparent to work along beside a son or daughter or perhaps you want to gather a few friends to sew in a small (socially distanced) group. Make it an adventure, a fun goal, whatever suits you…we just need you! (Don’t make Teresa beg!)
Our goal is to find 10 seamstresses (of course we will take more) so that we can utilize some of the beautiful special gowns we have to make gowns for families experiencing a loss.
Don’t live in Dothan? No worries, Teresa will mail you a packet so that you can Sew Along. Just please sign up in time for your packet to arrive. We promise, it is easy!
