Wacky Wednesdays

On Wednesdays during June and July at 10 a.m., anything goes! Wacky Wednesdays are programs on a variety of topics suitable for families with kids. These activities are free with paid gate admission unless noted in description ($4 for adults, $3 for kids, free for park members and children 2 and under). Seating is limited and registration is required. Visit www.landmarkparkdothan.com to register. Activities take place in the Interpretive Center Auditorium unless otherwise noted.
JUNE 8 SEWING AND TEXTILES
Join Sherry Burkhalter of Quilted Creations and learn how to hand sew! No experience necessary. Visitors will make a pot holder to take home.
JUNE 16: METEROLOGY
WTVY meteorologist will show guests how to read the weather for the news using a green screen.
JUNE 23 TEA PARTY
Join Ms. Birdie with Martin’s Tea House for lunch, desserts and of course, tea! Dress for the occasion in your favorite tea time hat. $10 for the public, $5 for park members. Waddell House Lawn.
JUNE 30: AERIEL SILKS
Have you ever wanted to join the circus? Here’s your chance to try your hand at aerial silks! Join Deborah Huggins and soar! Make sure to bring your yoga mat. Playground Pavilion.
JULY 7: FAIRY GARDEN
Let your imagination run wild! Build your own fairy garden using natural materials to take home.
JULY 14: PAINTING ON CANVAS
Moria Kirkland will teach visitors how to make their very own painting on canvas. No experience necessary!
JULY 21: YOGA
Yoga teachers from The Nature Gallery will present a beginners yoga class. If you have ever wanted to try yoga here is your chance!
JULY 28: BOOK ART
Artist Aimee Burr will teach us how to make an accordion-style book.
